Sunny skirt, somber top.

Wrap cardigan, lululemon athletica; Tank top, Le Lis Blanc; Skirt, Desart; Sandals, Zara.

There’s something about this outfit I don’t like. I think that it’s the grey tank in conjunction with the rest of the outfit. Originally, I’d thought that the purple cardi would help to pull the cool grey into the warm yellow, but it’s just kind of meh. Oh hindsight – you may be 20/20, but you aren’t always enlightening.

Speaking of 20/20 vision (something I do not have without corrective devices of the ocular variety), I ordered a new pair of glasses from ClearlyContacts.ca, and I can’t WAIT for them to arrive (they shipped yesterday). I picked a style I have never worn before, and I’m super excited to try them out.  I had a haircut today, and I knew the kind of style of cut I wanted, and I picked my glasses inspired by the haircut I wanted to get. Much fun!

In other news, this is the first time in months that I’ve left the house (or had my picture taken) with no make up on. It’s not bad, but it is a bit weird. I never realize how used to make up I’ve become until I decide not to wear some. I highly recommend it. I don’t plan on stopping wearing make up, but it’s a nice reminder what I really look like.

  1. I do the same thing with makeup. I don’t wear it often, but when I do, I start to regularly, and then I gradually get used to that version of my face and it’s shocking when I return to bare face. It’s important to do now and again. I think you look lovely. The skirt is indeed sunny, suits you. Maybe a white tee would help bridge the color scheme? Or keep the gray and try neutral sandals for winter up top, summer on bottom.🙂

    • I tried a white tee, but I think it absorbed some colour, so it wasn’t “true” white. Didn’t try a different white tee. I’ll have to try it soon!

I remember being really scared to participate in Rabbit Write’s No Makeup Week two summers ago, but it actually wasn’t scary at all. Just took some time to get used to it!

  2. I wore a similar outfit the other day, but I think you’re right; the gray makes it sort of disjointed. I’d love to see it again with maybe white or cream instead of gray.

I accidentally left the house without mascara yesterday (it’s all I wear) and didn’t look half as good as you. My eyes NEED mascara.

    • I didn’t think of cream, oddly. I’m definitely going to have to try again!

I feel alien without mascara and eyeliner. Absolutely alien! It’s such a bizarre experience to look in the mirror and see myself without makeup. But also kind of fun…
