More than just a maxi dress.

Sunnies, F21; Earrings, Winnipeg Folk Festival; Dress, stolen from my mother’s closet; Ring, gift; Flip flops, Havaianas.

Sometimes, simple is best. I didn’t know what I wanted to wear when I got out of bed, wound up wandering around the house wearing jean shorts and a plaid button-front for a while, until I stumbled upon this dress in my summer clothing bin, and was taken away with the idea of my whole “outfit” being, basically, just a big dress.

And this dress is BIG. Billowy, not at all form fitting, and still feminine and pretty. The scoop-neckline is flattering, and the pockets (pockets!) kept the dress firmly in the practical camp. And due to the overwhelming heat we’ve been having in my office, a big, cotton, billowy dress also did wonders keeping me cool and comfortable.

I predict this dress will become a summer staple, so my challenge now is coming up with new, innovative ways to wear this dress. Do you have items that you struggle with styling since it looks so damned fabulous on it’s own?

    • I’m super lucky my mom bought it, and I stumbled across it one of the last times I was in Brazil. It is the perfect fit, and fits my chic hippie style.
